adv art project, everyone had to choose an artist whose style they would use in a self portrait, no one could choose the same artist. I immediately chose Egon Schiele. It was either him or sir Klimt. The reference picture was a polaroid i had taken of myself. Is it Egon Shiele-esk?

I used instant coffee to color the background, watercolor for the figure itself, and white acrylic around the figure

that's good but I think this not enought tortured. . . .
I happy to see that I'm not the lonely "Schiele's fan". . . .
But it's really beautiful. . . . I will try to make my self portrait too but painting is difficult for me. . . . If you want I can informe you wenn I finish. . .

VERY schiele-esque, but at the same time (think because the face is so soft with the watercolor) it's very much your own style. I wish you had more like this!

Oui, you are quite right about the colors being too soft, and maybe i will do some more schiele inspired paintings, brighter coloring this time eehehe :D

i really like this, i have to do the same thing for my art class and i needed to get out of the whole copy posing kind of thing. i love how you made it your own.

At the end of his short life, Egon Schiele was less tortured than at the begining of his.
We can imagine that he will arrive to this cleanest type of line if he weren't died at the age of 28 de la grippe espagnole.
I am not an artist, so, I just can say "I find the ensemble so agreable. Wonderfull colors".
And you do a great job with the signature, very "EgonSchiele's style".
