A painting i'm very happy with. makes me feel like an artist, rather than an aimless student.

The key is a real Corbin P6 key which i bought on etsy, and i plan to glue it to the outside of the shadowbox-type frame, as you see it in the photo. Also, it is pinned to the back of the frame via some half-inch-thick styrofoam covered with off-white cloth

Drawn from a gorgeous stock photo by :iconrammkitty-stock: that i fell in love with.
The girl looks a fair bit younger in my drawing though.

And thank you to my step-dad Tom, who took this gorgeous photo after who knows how long of fiddling with camera settings, blankets, cardboard boxes, and several flash setups.

You should definitely feel like that, because this is really beautiful. And I love the key, it just adds a touch of reality to it, makes the girl seem more real, like having the key is having one of her possessions.
All in all, very well done.

By the caliber of your work(If Iam to judge it by this.)you can rest safely on the fact you are an artist. You just may not be acclaimed or financially successfull at the moment. Thats okay though. Many who are (While far be it from me to break their rice bowls.)dont warrant the appellation of artist. In any of its definitions.
